A few weekends ago, when the sun was shining, Julia (okay, it was actually Alesha, but Julia claimed it quicker) found a 'Baby' caterpillar. We aren't for sure that it was a baby but Julia was. Well, she carried it around in the jar for all of Saturday and decided that she needed to give it a bath before bed so it would be ready for church the next morning. A bath in about an inch of water. Not a great idea for a 'baby' caterpillar. In the morning, poor Fluffy was dead. But Julia didn't realize it and none of us wanted to tell her, so she took a dead caterpillar to church. One of her Sunday School teachers asked me after Sunday school if I knew that the caterpillar had died. I said yes. I think she was relieved, thinking it had died during Sunday School. Anyway, Andrew 'not-so-gently' broke the news on the way home from church and Julia buried her caterpillar in Auntie Marni's garden (Sorry Marni) with a little rock stating 'My Dear Caterpillar Fluffy'.
Rest In Peace, Fluffy!
